Canada Hill, the Petroleum Museum & Oil Well No.1

3 Jan 2015

Canada Hill

If you want to see excellent views of Miri, Canada Hill will be a good choice.

Grand Old Lady

When at Canada Hill, don’t forget to visit The Grand Old Lady and Petroleum museum as it situated on the top of Canada Hill. The Grand Old Lady is the first place which discovers oil well.

At the bottom of well, there have statues depicting the old days when drilling was not use high tech equipment.

Petroleum Museum

Petroleum Museum situated close to Grand Old Lady.

During my visit to Petroleum museum, it has cultured rain forest exhibition which started from 29 November 2014 until 29 April 2015.

The times we visit museum, there were not so crowd and free of charge to visit this museum.

Inside of museum has many exhibition related petroleum or geological. It reminds me the times I studied geology in University.

You even can saw wall art which you can take picture with.

You manually turn this, the gear will turn around and has light on it.

There did not have bus service to Canada Hill but it’s take 10 minutes’ drive from Bintang Mall. If you don’t have own transport, you can take a cab and ask the cab driver to wait as taxi seldom come by this area or you can same like me that rent a taxi for a tour.

Cite Book Garden: E-coupon

On last year, I was so lucky that had won RM 50 of E-coupon which can spend at Cite Book Garden. In order to use this coupon, I need to spend minimum RM 50 for the purchases.

The book which purchased by me as below:-

文具手贴Season 07:旅行中,寄明信片给自己

In this book, I like the postcard sharing by Taiwan and Malaysia friends because their postcard are so special and I did not seen before. Besides that this book had introduced Postcrossing and I was attracted by the travelling notebook. It looks fun and meaningful that a notebook travel to everywhere and decorate or writing by many people. Besides postcard, this book also has many stationery introductions. This book had free 4 pieces of postcards.

印度行李箱:1头大象,2本旅行笔记,4个城市,6个展览Popil的反刍创作

India is a mystery country so I choose to buy this book to know more about India. I also like the illustration in this book which is so beautiful. The author sharing her experiences in India (New Delhi, Arga, Jaipur and Varanasi). At last, the author had made exhibition about India named “India Suitcase” in China to let many people know about the beauty of India.

I did not spend above RM 150 so I need to pay for postage. I found out that the postage is quite reasonable because I can choose for Register Mail which cost me RM 6.  Recently I had some books that wish to buy, hope I can win again. Haha..
