The business in here is very good as it is full of people although has little raining. We ate Tomyam Fried Rice, Tomyam Flat Noodle Soup and Tomyam Tuaran Noodle. All taste good and for me the Tomyam is not super spicy unless you drink the soup.

Kota Belud + Kundasang Year 2020

Coronavirus or COVID-19 spread around the world at the beginning of the year. Many people need to cancel their overseas travel trip because of this virus. My friends and I, all six of us went to Kota Belud for camping and Kundasang. At that time, East Malaysia is free from Coronavirus.

21 February 2020 (Friday)

Early in the morning 4:45am, my friends came to fetch me and we direct went to terminal ferry. When reach Menumbok, we drove to Survey Supermarket in Kota Kinabalu to buy some foods for BBQ and Steamboat. After that, we lunch at Kedai Kopi Jia Siang.

Registration Counter
After lunch, we direct went to Polumpung Melangkap View Camp Site (PMVCS) in Kota Belud by car. When reach there, we need to pay for overnight fee RM 6 at registration counter. After that, we can find a nice place to put on the tent. The staff will help to set up the tent. The best direction is your entrance of camp to view of Mount Kinabalu.

Before went to PMVCS, you can rent some equipment such as tent, sleeping bag, pillow, chairs and others via website. My friend and I rent four people tent because two people tent sold out. The tent quite big and comfortable. All rental fee that I paid for this stay RM 28. As the air mattress sold out so I bring my own yoga mat. Besides that, when at there, as the weather is so hot so we rent a canopy. If you forget to bring some toiletries, you can buy at there.

PMVCS established in February 2017 which was two years ago after earth quake (5 June 2015) and flood (7 August 2015). During January 2017, the owner camping together with family. They posted their pictures on social media and get attention from many people. Many people suggested that this place should open for public. That is the story of establishment PMVCS as the owner wish to share all the beauty of nature with all of us. The tagline of PMVCS is “For us, you are our family.”

At there is so convenience as has many basic facilities such as toilet and bathroom (no water heater), kitchen, restaurant and many more. When in night, around the campsite has light so you can clearly walk to toilet. Surprising that the bathroom and toilet are clean.

We were having BBQ as dinner in the dark with the help of torch light and head light. Maybe the smell of BBQ is good, some cockroach came out to look for food so we need to zip up our tent to avoid them sleep with us.

Our camp near with river so I fall asleep and wake up can heard the river sound. It is so nature! Sometime I thought is raining but actually is the sound of river. The river is so clean that you can see some fishes swimming around. You can swim or play with water so be careful when walk on stones as it is so slip.

Note:

1. The gate will close at 9pm and open at 8am. Anyone who checks out early (before 8am) please make sure your vehicle parked outside the campsite (Registration counter area).

2. You are no allow to make any noise during 11:30pm to 6:00am.

At night, we were having steamboat outside at the dark. At here, many stars and Milky Way in the sky, it was so beautiful! As we were having steamboat at outside, it was very cool although with jacket. Maybe because of the cool weather, we need to wait for more than 30 minutes to wait for the food can be eat.

We finished our steamboat around 10:30pm. The room’s water heater did not function well because the water just hot for few minutes.
