Doctors provide medicine and we provide hope, joy and magic.
I love this sentence as above because although we are not doctors who can help the persons in pain, we still can bring some fun and hope to them.
Cards for Hospitalized Kids (CFHK) is an internationally recognized charitable organization that spreads hope, joy and magic to hospitalized kids across America through uplifting, handmade cards. Anyone can get involved with us, from anywhere. Individuals and groups across the United States, and world, donate time and creativity to make handmade cards and send them to us for distribution in hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses across the nation - Cards for Hospitalized Kids
In June 2015, I had sent 10 postcards which include one postcard from my sister to CFKH so that they will help me to distribute the cards to children in hospital. My handcraft is not good so I just paste some washi tape and stickers on blank postcard to create a cheerful postcard. Hope the children will like them.
When making card, there have some general guideline which you should be aware. I just pointed some points as below:-
You can use any craft supplies such as stickers, stamps and many more as long as it is not excessive to the point of falling/rubbing off (this can create health concerns for some kids).
Suggestion: Rubbing your finger across the glitter, stamp link etc. to ensure that none or little comes off.
Do not address the card to a specific person because we do not yet know the child’s name.
Did not write get well, feel better or other illness related comments because some patients suffer from medical conditions that are chronic, life-long, progressive and/or terminal.
Hospitals do not allow cards be distribute if on the card include any personal information such as phone number, address, email address etc.
For those who interested, can mail your card to the address as below:-
