Wesak
day is the day marks the birth, enlightenment and passing of Gautama Buddha. At
that day, it was a public holiday for Malaysia.
As
the time I went to Labuan Buddhist Association was around 11pm so the people
were not as crowded as at 8am but still can saw quite many people went to
there.
As
it was not so many people to queue up so wait for my turn to bath the Buddha
statue was quite fast. Besides that, at the left and right sides of the place had put each Buddha statue so it also make lots of convenience.
Buddha statue |
Each
person allows bathing the Buddha statue for 3 times and cannot drench the
Buddha’s head. It means that the head of Buddha should not be wet so pouring
the water from above of the both shoulder.
If
you are first time to join for Buddha Bathing Ceremony, don’t worries about it
as at there has volunteers (those who wear pink T-shirt) explain to you.
After
the Buddha Bathing Ceremony, I had brought a candle for wishing at the selling
counter (as below). At there, you can saw they had sold candles, flowers and fruits which
for prayer purpose. The candle that I brought cost me RM10 and for your
information that all the money that get from proceed will be channeled into building
maintenance fund for Labuan Buddhist Association.
At
there, I also spotted some Indian also came here for praying.
The volunteers of Labuan Buddhist Association were so busy which you can saw at below. They kept arranged the candles that put on the table so that it will has more spaces for next coming people to put the candle.
A nice wall picture |
At there, it had a place which you can saw many empty red packets (as below). The purpose was for you to put the money inside the red packet and put it into a box. The value of money that you want to donate is depend on your ability.
After
finished with prayer, I went to canteen to take a look. At
there, it had many stalls that selling food such as mee, rice, cake, ice-cream,
drinks and many more.
People sit down to enjoy their food |
Among all the stalls,the stall
that attracts my attention was the stall which selling drinks and ice-cream
which done by a group of Buddhist Association’s Youth Club because the
decorations were so cute which you can see at below.
Locate
besides of drinks stall, it had a stall which sold some souvenir of Buddha.
That
all for my post for Wesak Day at morning session and stayed tune with my post
on Wesak Night ^.^
