Time to Give Back- Children’s Protection Society

Do you ever hear about “Children’s Protection Society”?

For me, I had been heard about “Children’s Protection Society” (CPS) but did not know more information about this society. If you also same like me, let us explore this society in more.

What is CPS?
CPS is a non-profit and non-governmental organization catering to the needs of neglected and/or abandoned children in Penang.

Who is the initiative of CPS?
Dato’ Nazir Ariff was the initiative of CPS when he was President of the Rotary Club in Penang (1991).

When was CPS launched?
CPS was officially launched in April 1992 by Puan Sri Chua Kah Peng.

What is the objective of CPS?
The objective is to provide children at risk with a safe, supportive and conductive environment (shelter). The focused areas include the emotional and physical development, education, social and recreational skills.

How to help CPS?
More focus in Learning and Tuition parts which only commit a regular time a week (can be anything from an hour up)

Talk to any of CPS’s staff if you are interested to sponsor a child.

Send cheques (payable to Children’s Protection Society Pulau Pinang) to CPS at 118-a Jalan Scotland, 10450 Penang.

(CPS is a registered charity home with the Welfare Department so your donations will be tax-exempt)

CPS organizes many activities for the children, staff and volunteers so it welcomes sponsorship of specific activities. Contact to CPS if you have any ideas of your own or what sort of activities that you could sponsor.

For any inquiry or help, you are welcome to make a contact or write to:

Children’s Protection Society
118-A Jalan Scotland, 10450 Penang.
