This postcard is very meaningful especially the quotes written.

My Taiwan postcard friend went to Thailand for 3 weeks trip and she been to Bangkok, Changmai and Pattaya. She told me that elephant is symbolic as “Lucky” in Thailand therefore she chose this postcard for me.

Nine Emperor Gods Procession 2017

[2014] [2016]

24 October 2017 (Tuesday)

Start from 8pm, Nine Emperor Gods procession started.

Many people stand beside the road and watch it.

This was my first time to see电音三太子or known as Electric Sometimes? (according to Baike.baidu) in real because usually watch in TV.  电音三太子 so funny that suddenly spotted two kids and gave them something. As beside of me has someone, so I did not know what they get, perhaps angpow or sweets? (can watch in video at the end of the post)

For “God Lift”, the Gods usually sit on a wooden chair. I spotted that the chair for one of “God Lift” has attached with LED light, which sounds cool.

I just recorded some parts that I feel interesting.

Wedding Wish Postcard Project 2017

[My Birthday Project 2014] [Wedding Postcard Project 2015]

In the end of this year, I am collecting postcard for 5 years. Therefore, my postcard is getting more and more. Suddenly I have an idea about “SHARING” which is doing a wedding wish postcard project (as wedding gift to my friend) to let the sender choose whether send to my friends or me.

This project a bit different compare previously (year 2015) because I cannot know how many people will send wedding wish postcard. Besides that, I need a long preparation time (time to receive the postcard) as previously the country involved only Taiwan and Malaysia but now is worldwide.

In last year, when I am thinking this project dedicated to who, that time I knew that, my friend was done with marriage register with her boyfriend. Therefore, I planned to collect wedding wish postcard to she as gift although I did not know the date of her wedding dinner.

I started with giving an option to sender in Postcrossing website. After few month, I did received some wedding wish postcards for my friend. Some sender so good that send two postcards, one is for my friend and another is for me.

I stopped this project in the end of July to avoid any late postcard reach and started with postcard album decoration. My friend’s wedding dinner on the end of September.

I bought some wedding sticker to paste on the cover of postcard album. The album actually is CD album but I made it to postcard album. Besides that, at the last page of album, I stick some stickers that I won from Astro AEC contest. The sticker show a family that is very suitable for this project.

World Post Day 2017: My First Day Cover

A first day of issue cover or first day cover (FDC) is a postage stamp on a cover, postal card or stamped envelope franked on the first day the issue is authorized for use within the country or territory of the stamp-issuing authority- Wikipedia

I did not collect First Day Cover because if I collect it with postcards, I think at someday I will need declare bankruptcy. It is quite pricey to collect FDC and postcard. Haha…

Before 9 October, in Postcard FB Group has suggest doing a gathering at any post office as long as has 2 members. At first Isabella from Limbang plans go Kota Kinabalu for gathering but if I have time to meet with she then she will come my place.

On 9 October, during lunch hour, I went to Post Office. I planned to buy some postcards but already sold out. Therefore, I changed to buy a FDC as a collection. Isabella did came to meet with me. Her mother accompany her. We did have a small talk because later on I need to continue working.

Below is some information that I get from FDC’s brochure:-

World Post Day is celebrated each year on 9 October. The vent was declared by the 1969 Universal Postal Congress in Tokyo as a means to mark the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union’s (UPU) creation in 1874. The purpose of World Post Day is to bring awareness to the public on the Post’s role in the everyday lives of the people and business, as well as its contribution to social and economic development globally.

A postcard is a cardboard paper of a certain size that is used to write a greeting to someone without using envelope. There are 2 parts of a postcard, the front and its reverse side. The front of a postcard will portray an interesting pictures or design. The reverse is used to write the greetings and address of the recipient.

A stamp must be pasted on the reverse side as postage payment. The postage rate for postcards within Malaysia are 30sen and 50sen for overseas. Among the common themes are the landscapes of a country, a map of a place, famous buildings as well as flora and fauna. The first postcard in the world was published in Austria on 1 October 869 and was known as Correspondenz-Karte.

Melange Boutique Hotel

15-16 October 2017 (Sunday-Monday)

Strategically located in Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle, Mélange is a boutique hotel with a difference. A modern urban hotel distinguished by innovative design and attention to detail, Mélange is a stylish sanctuary within the city’s tourism, entertainment and business hub. Offering discerning travelers a unique way to experience contemporary design, Mélange was designed by fashion photographer turned creative director Daniel Goh and showcases a unique concept revolving around three themes – HANDSOME (TAMPAN), ELEGANT (AYU) and FUN (MANJA).

For a touch of class and formality without compromising on comfort, the Tampan suites are on point with their wooden furnishing, dark furniture and spacious work tables. Perfect for the business traveler looking for a quiet environment to get that business proposal done.

Meanwhile, minimalist lovers will feel right at home with the Ayu series. Like a beautiful, pure maiden, the rooms have clean white designs and no-fuss, basic lines. We were pleasantly surprised at the corridor’s design, which was lined with gauze white curtains. It felt like walking down a wedding aisle.

The fun and playful Manja series featured colourful rooms and funky shapes, which will be a good choice for the young at heart and families with children. From calming blue to funky green and soft pink, pick a favourite coloured room to spend the night in- Melange Hotel

This was my first time so LATE to check in hotel.  During booking, I did stated that I would check in in the night. I reached hotel around 12:45am. During check in, need to pay RM 100 as deposit.

I stayed in Deluxe Single room that cost me RM 100.53. I booked via Hotels.com website. The room that I stayed is Manja series. I likes the colorful chair.

When you go into the lift from receptionist, you need flash your access card first before click the floor number. I think it for security purpose.

In this hotel, you cannot find your room number on the door but on the floor.

Inside room did not has cupboard but has an open space to hang your clothes or towel.

The washroom has prepared utilities such as shampoo, towel, soap and others. The water from shower is strong that made me enjoyable.

As last night, I quite tired. After check in, I took some room photos and sleep. I did not realized that the ceiling has dragonfly sticker.

I spotted that on the table has a card that put on your bed if you do not want to change bed sheet. It is for saving water or environment purposes.

Rococo Restaurant is a rooftop restaurant. I was having breakfast at here. The breakfast need to purchase if interested during room booking. It offers three types of American breakfast that included smoothies.

The hotel is located at the back of the shop so it seems quiet.

The ZON Duty Free

Located at Pantai Cenang and Cable Car at Mat Cincang, The ZON Duty Free outlets here offer a wide range of products ranging from duty free liquor, tobacco, perfume and duty paid products like food, apparel, luggage and sunglasses at fair prices. It is indeed a shopping haven for everyone that visits the island.

Langkawi is famous with duty-free therefore, the chocolate and liquor is cheap in here.

The Underworld Langkawi is at same area with The ZON Duty Free. We did not go inside to visit, as Yang Yang is not interested with fish.

I bought a magnet for my friend in souvenir shop.

Langkawi Eagle Square- Dataran Lang

14 October 2017 (Saturday)

It also known as Eagle Square, Dataran Lang is one of Langkawi’s best known manmade attractions, a large sculpture of an eagle poised to take flight. A sight that greets visitors to the island via ferry, the 12 metre-tall statue is one of the island’s most instantly recognizable monuments.

Located at the southeast corner of Pulau Langkawi, besides offering beautiful views of Kuah Bay, Dataran Lang has beautiful miniature fountains, terraces and bridges, making it the ideal place for those postcard-perfect holiday photos. The square is a good place to watch ferries ply across the harbour but plan a trip here early in the morning or late in the evening when the sun is at its least intense.

Before back to resort, all of us went to Eagle Square to take a group pictures.

When in Langkawi, must go here to take some photos.

Thanks for consideration and waiting of tourists and locals as we really take some times to take this group pictures. Can you spotted me? Haha..

When take pictures, the organizers did warn us that becareful with the words of “Langkawi”, do not destroy it. Haha..
