Started from this month, I had stated in my Postcrossing profile that hope the sender can share his/her favorite song with me. In this month, I also received a response regarding favorite song from Florida. Her favorite song is “The Story” by Sara Ramirez. This song had sung by many people and her like Sara because Sara is hot. “The Story” is a song released as a single by America folk rock singer Brandi Carlile, written by Phil Hanseroth and it was featured in Grey’s Anatomy.

Chain Postcard

Do you ever play chain postcard?

Chain Postcard involves more than 2 persons to play it. The different with the the normal postcard is your postcard will return back to you. It also has the risk of losing which same with normal postcard.

In May 2015, I had joined to play Chain Postcard which involved 3 countries. It was my first time to play of it.  Our Chain Postcard as below:-

CoCo Pig (Hong Kong) >> Wendy Wang (Taiwan) >> Me (Malaysia)

It means that CoCo Pig will send her postcard to Wendy, then Wendy will send the postcard to me and I will send the postcard back to CoCo Pig. It looks like a circle and the circle also same applied to Wendy and me.

In this Chain Postcard, I just need to write and send the postcard to CoCo Pig so I will have her address. CoCo Pig will monitor the Chain Postcard to ensure all go smooth. Our Chain Postcard has a theme which is written a quote that you like.

First, I need to prepare a postcard to write my favorite quote with CoCo Pig’s address. Do leave some space on the postcard for your friends to write the quote and address.

CoCo Pig had kept tracked with the postcard which sent by us by recording on a paper. On 14th May, Wendy had sent out her postcard while CoCo Pig and I sent out our postcard on 15th May.

The journey of the postcard had started.

25th May 2015

I had received Wendy’s postcard. Wendy was using the blank postcard, one side of postcard write address while the other side writes favorite quote.

After received the postcard, it was my turn to write my favorite quote on Wendy’s postcard.  I had seen Wendy draw some boarder on a postcard so I also draw a simple boarder.

After wrote a favorite quote, I had paste the stamp on my address to cover it so that the postman will not confuse the address of received.  After pasting the stamp, I write the address of CoCo Pig and send out.

3rd June 2015

I had received CoCo Pig’s postcard which sent from Wendy. The picture of the postcard has a kid is feeding the giraffe.

On the postcard has 2 favorite quotes by CoCo Pig and Wendy.

I spotted that on postcard has 2 addresses (address of Wendy and I) so I use sticker to cover the address of Wendy and use stamp to cover my address.  Same as before that I had written my favorite quote and CoCo Pig’s address on a postcard and send the postcard to CoCo Pig.

15th June 2015

My postcard finally back from traveling. Haha.. The Chain Postcard was successful. On my postcard have 3 favorite quotes include my favorite quote. Besides that, on my postcard also have 3 countries’ stamps.

Online Book Fair 2015

In Facebook, I saw someone share a news regarding Online Book Fair which organized by Cite Book Garden. After I was clicked into the link provided, I saw that this book fair offers great deal such as free shipping (no minimum purchases), up to 70% discount and many more. Someone told me that Cite Book Garden having promotion might be because of Popular Book Fair which also held on July.

I have many books which I did not finish read yet so I just brought one book which published in Malaysia because usually Malaysia book did not offer discount but now has up to 15% discount.

Usually for free shipping, Cite Book Garden will use Register Post to mail the book but this times, it use Pos Laju to post out the book so within 2 days I had received my book. I was so surprised when I saw the book mail by Pos Laju.

This book was written in 2 languages which are Chinese and English with lots of pictures. Nowadays the traditional trades seem to be less and less because young generation seems less interested in this kind of job. This book had introduced 54 types of traditional trades which included paper making, mahjong tile making, clog making, calligraphy, spice milling and many more.

Books: Echo

Echo is a Malaysia author who write the book from single life to marital life and parental life. In last year, I had bought 6 books from her and finally I had finished read all the books. In this post, I just write some meaningful words which I like from the book.

This book about Echo said good bye to her single life and start with her marriage stories.

This book about the moment Echo spends with her sons.

Creative autograph by Echo's sons
This book is about the stories of her sons. At the end of a book, Echo had written letters to her sons, it was quite touching when read of it.

The format of this book is different from previous books because it is letter writing between two authors. They are talking about their parental life in Malaysia or Italy. You can see the different of the life of children in these two countries.

This book has funny stories of Echo’s sons and how Echo educated her sons.

This book is about the life of Echo from a child to a mom who cares about current news in Malaysia.

Postcard Project: Cards for Hospitalized Kids

Doctors provide medicine and we provide hope, joy and magic.

I love this sentence as above because although we are not doctors who can help the persons in pain, we still can bring some fun and hope to them.

Cards for Hospitalized Kids (CFHK) is an internationally recognized charitable organization that spreads hope, joy and magic to hospitalized kids across America through uplifting, handmade cards. Anyone can get involved with us, from anywhere. Individuals and groups across the United States, and world, donate time and creativity to make handmade cards and send them to us for distribution in hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses across the nation - Cards for Hospitalized Kids

In June 2015, I had sent 10 postcards which include one postcard from my sister to CFKH so that they will help me to distribute the cards to children in hospital.  My handcraft is not good so I just paste some washi tape and stickers on blank postcard to create a cheerful postcard. Hope the children will like them.

When making card, there have some general guideline which you should be aware. I just pointed some points as below:-

To read full instructions for making general cards, click “Making General Cards”.

You can use any craft supplies such as stickers, stamps and many more as long as it is not excessive to the point of falling/rubbing off (this can create health concerns for some kids).

Suggestion: Rubbing your finger across the glitter, stamp link etc. to ensure that none or little comes off.

Do not address the card to a specific person because we do not yet know the child’s name.

Suggestion: write Hey there, Hey you, To: a very special person

Did not write get well, feel better or other illness related comments because some patients suffer from medical conditions that are chronic, life-long, progressive and/or terminal.

Suggestion: write message such as stay strong, you are awesome, be brave etc.

Hospitals do not allow cards be distribute if on the card include any personal information such as phone number, address, email address etc.

Suggestion: sign your first name with state/country such as ”J-Mei from Malaysia”

For those who interested, can mail your card to the address as below:-
Cards for Hospitalized Kids
7290 W.Devon Ave,
Chicago, IL 60631

Let make a smile to those children (✿◠‿◠)
