2015-08 Favorite Postcards Received

Rini from Indonesia had sent me a postcard featured Nasi Lapola. Lapola rice is a typical dish Maluku. Rice is the main food for the people of Maluku. It has a savory taste and slightly sweet.

This hand drawing laksa postcard is so beautiful. Laksa is a popular spicy noodle soup in the Peranakan cuisine which is a combination of Chinese and Malay cuisine. Laksa consists of rice noodles or rice vermicelli with chicken, prawn or fish, served in spicy soup. Laksa is so delicious.

Coco Pig from Hong Kong had sent me “Three little pig” postmark on the postcard which is so cute. I am very happy when receiving this postcard.

Do you know where the orangery fountain is? The answer is at Russia. In the center of the Orangery garden there is a round pool with a stone surround and a four pointed star of tufa from which rises a bronze sculptural group depicting a Triton struggling with a sea monster.

Asagi is a writer who had published Busan travel book. During her trip to Busan, she had a giveaway to all her reader a postcard. If I have chance go to Busan, surely I will visit Gamcheon Culture Village because every corner is very suitable for photo taking.

Cambodia has many beautiful temples. Pre Rup is a temple at Angkor, Cambodia, built as the state temple of Khmer King Rajendravarman. The temple’s name is a comparatively modern one meaning “turn the body”.

Carol Lin had sent me a piece of Seremban postcard. She comes from Taiwan but her husband from Malaysia. Therefore, she lives in Seremban with her husband and kids. Seremban is the capital of the Malaysian state of Negeri Sembilan. I did not go to Seremban before and hope in future can go there to take a look.

Kids’ life is full of creativity and colorful which also can be seen on postcard. On the back side of postcard, Sveta had drawn a watermelon and color it. It is so beautiful.

On August 2015, Typhoon had damaged post boxes but they draw crowds. Taiwan post office had released leaning post boxes postmark and I get it stamped on postcard from Taiwan friend. To know more stories about these post boxes, you can read “The Leaning Postboxes of Taipei: ‘Little Red’ and ‘Little Green’ become surprise tourist attraction after they were blown to astonishing angles by Typhoon soudelor”.
