Chap Goh Mei 2014 (Part 1)

This year had double Valentine Day as Chinese Valentine Day met with Western Valentine Day. Chap Goh Mei is one of my favorite days during Chinese New Year as I like to see the decoration or exhibition of Chap Goh Mei.

As usual, we were having dinner together with relatives. After dinner, my sister and I went to the nearest station to see the decoration. 

When arrived at Station, the people were not so many so it was a good time to take a photo. First, I had saw display of worship food such as pig, chicken, duck, eggs and others on table.

This year is horse year so many decorations will be related with horse. This cake is made by Delight Cake House that has a picture of horse take the gold bullion which has meaning of immediately become rich.

This cake has 2 little cute horses are resting on grass and a Chinese word of Horse with year 2014 to wish you have a Happy Chap Goh Mei and Valentine Day. 

Here was the display of the worship snacks such as sweets, fruits, sunflower seeds and many more. All of them arrange nicely on a plate.

This is a gold pineapple that made from gold paper. I was so impress with the person who made it because this pineapple looks so nice and beautiful.

This is a cake with a black horse picture. At the eyes of horse have flowers. Does it mean that the horse has spotted his lover? 

This horse brings money! I want! This horse also has plate number such like car. It accompany with many small gold horses.

This cake has the word of 年年有余 meaning may you have surplus and remainders year after year. The Chinese word of “余” has same sound with “Fish” so the word of “余” represent with fish that made from angpow.

This is the Chinese Zodiac collection as this year is horse year so horse at the center of decoration. I like the collection very much. 

This is one of the handmade decoration which hanging with some lanterns. I think if the lanterns have light in it will looks nice.

My Favorite Angpow 2014

[2013]

As this year is horse year so I had received many types of horse angpows but in this post, I just share my favorite angpows with you.

Winnie the Pooh – Rilakkuma – Fox (阿狸）

First this is the cartoon version angpow that given by my relative. As two of my sisters did not collect angpow so I had asked for them to give me their angpow so that I have different cartoon character of angpow. 

Last year, Minion was one of the hit topics to be talk and collect. Until I received this angpow, then I know that Minion also has its printed angpow too. Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-nana

This is a cute illustration angpow that has a cute boy with a horse. 

When you touch the horse on this angpow, you can feel the texture of that part of angpow which is not just a piece of paper but some like 3D effect.

This is a puzzle colorful horse angpow that from Bank Rakyat. As you can see, four of chopsticks are co-operation to solve out the missing puzzle.

This angpow is so cute that has a boy take lantern with firecracker. Usually this type of angpow can be find at shop for selling purpose but normally I will not buy it unless giving by someone during Chinese New Year :P

Previous year, I did not get any angpow from Ah Jib Gor as all the angpow had been finished when my sister help me to register it. Ah Jib Gor means "Brother Najib" in Chinese (Najib Razak is Malaysia's Prime Minister). This year, finally I had the angpow with a picture of Ah Jib Gor and a horse. Maybe they had been increasing the number of angpows that giveaway.

This is the angpows that I get from Forefront.  It has 2 types of colors which are red and brown. The red angpows had been used up by my mother to give angpow to relatives as this angpow is not suitable for reuse in next year as this angpow has the word of horse. It is weird when you receive angpow is not in red color so my mum did not use the brown color of angpow and I still has some in my there. 

This is a simple spring illustration angpow that looks nice with its design and color.

At last, end up this post with my most favorite angpow that I get from Nissan.  I was so happy to receive Nissan angpow as I like the illustration of those angpows very much. In last year, I had miss out the angpow giveaway by Nissan and luckily that in this year I had won from the angpow giveaway. Hope that by next year I can continuous get the Nissan angpow.

Inside of this big angpow have 5 different designs of illustration angpow. Four of angpows can create a picture by combining front and back of angpow together, so creative!

Miss Hana Waterproof Gel Eyeliner

Do you usually draw eyeliner before go out?

For me, I did not draw any eyeliner when go out or to dinner as I did not have a good skill in drawing eyeliner unless has someone help me to draw for it. I always said that I want to practice to draw eyeliner but until now still did not have any action to do it.

Recently, I had spent some days to practice it because Natta Cosme had sent me two Miss Hana Waterproof Gel Eyeliner pens for review.

[Waterproof]

I had tried to use water to clean out the eyeliner and seem that this eyeliner is not easily to clean out with water so you can use it without worry of tears, sweat and oil to make it smudges. Below is the test result after I let the eyeliner under the running water for few minutes.

[Smudge-proof]

I know that some of you may always rub your eye when eye is uncomfortable and may come with panda eye as the eyeliner become smudge. Although by using this gel eyeliner pen, small rub will not have any effect towards your eyeliner. It is recommended to put some eye drop in your eye when you feel your eyes are uncomfortable.

[Beginner]

This eyeliner pen is suitable for beginner like me as when I draw it, it is super smooth and easy to glide the texture that you want. As the tip of gel pencil is quite thick so for beginner like me must be careful because sometimes I will draw out of the line.

[Eyeliner Removal]

As this eyeliner is waterproof so you can use oil-base make up remover to remove the eyeliner easily such as Bifesta Eye Remover. Bifesta eye makeup remover is water based eye makeup removers that can easily remove any eye makeup include water proof mascara and heavy stage makeup. As it is a dual layer product (water and oil) so you need to shake well before use.

[Non-twisted eyeliner pen]

This eyeliner pen cannot be twist to become long when the gel pencil of eyeliner become short but you can use sharpener to reuse it.

Send a Postcard to Easter Bunny 2014

In Germany, Easter day is a special holiday for them as they will organize many activities to celebrate and express reverence to sun and the cattle and sheep flocks to desire a good harvest. Example of activities are roll color eggs, pilgrimage in foot, horseback riding and many more that aim to drive away the winter and pay tribute to the sun.

Easter refers to the first full moon after spring equinox on Sunday so if the full moon happens to be the day of Sunday thus Easter is postponed one week.  It means that Easter could be fall on March 22 to April 25 in any one day.

Through the Postcard Exchange group in Facebook, I know that we can send a letter or postcard to Easter Bunny in Germany. This year, Easter day falls on 20^th April so now it still has times to write some letters or postcards to Easter Bunny and the address as below:-

Note:

1. The male bunny calls Hans while female bunny calls Hanni Hase so you just write the name of bunny that you wish to get a letter return from.

According to the group, normally return letter will be a printed letter with three pieces of cards. Besides that, for children or those write with German will get a handwritten letter in return.

Recently I had sent out a postcard to Hanni Hase. It was my first times to send it and hope that can get a return letter from she soon.
