Hatyai Trip 2018

29^th October 2018 (Monday) – 30^th October 2018 (Tuesday)

From Sungai Petani, we booked a van with Mr. Tan. All of us twelve people to join for the trip. My dad, uncle and I only joined for two days one night while other relatives joined for few days. I paid RM 100 for this trip.

A driver with twelve of us can fit in a van but the driver bring a tour guide. Therefore, we need squeeze while sitting, a little bit not comfortable.  Besides that, after clearing immigration in Thailand, my uncle and his brother took bus to Hatyai’s hotel because the driver said the van overload (total passengers thirteen people). 

Before to Hatyai, I told by my uncle who went to Hatyai long time ago, that in Immigration Office, you need to put RM 2 inside your passport. If not the immigration officer will not let you enter Thailand or will ask you many questions. When in van, the driver told us that nowadays no need to put RM 2 inside your passport. In Immigration Office, I saw has a banner that not to put money inside passport.

Before go to Immigration Office, all of us have some drinks in a restaurant. At the restaurant, you can fill in entrance form before enter Thailand. Our driver already help us fill in and we just need to double check the details.

From the way to Hatyai, I saw a small white temple (Chiang Mai) and small Saint Petersburg (Russia). After we put our luggage to the hotel. We went to a chicken rice shop named “孔提鸡饭老字号” for lunch. The chicken rice is good in taste.

After lunch, my aunty want to buy some souvenirs or local snacks so the driver bring us to here. This shop only has Thai name and I did not know the exact location but inside of it has many local snacks.

After that, we went to Songkhla. Our first stop was at Sleeping Buddha. At there, I heard from uncle or aunty that has a fruits has poison.

On the way to another destination, we saw Songkhla Towards World Heritage Site is so beautiful and requested the driver to stop for a while and all of us go in for visit.

Inside of it has small exhibition, souvenir shops and you even can rent sarong for pictures taking.

You can refer this website about attraction in Songkhla, which I found during travel research.

You can spotted head, body and tail of dragon along the way in Songkhla. It showed that the dragon is so long. Many people will come to take pictures with the head of dragon. As the time we arrived was hot weather, so it is quite difficult to take pictures with head of dragon.

In Songkhla, you must go to Samila Beach to take picture with mermaid statue. I heard from my aunty that few years ago, the mermaid was quite high as you need climb some rock in order to reach she. In the same year (after my trip) , the mermaid statue  was been damaged by bomb and Thailand Government was quite fast in repairing it.

I knew this mermaid status through postcard. I did not think of one day I will come here for a visit.

In beach can horse riding with some fee.

You can look for some fruits or snacks at here.  Even souvenirs also did sell at here.

Besides that, do not miss to take pictures with the word of “Songkhla City” to show that you are here. Haha..

In the night, we were having dinner at Washington Restaurant. This restaurant was recommend by driver. The restaurant is full of people with some entertainment like singing.

This was my first time to eat piglet. The piglet slides are quite oily so it is good to eat with white bun. We just ate the meat first and other parts of body of piglet will cook again for another dish.

After dinner, we shopping in Robinson Mall. It is just like usual mall.

At the next morning, we just went nearby for breakfast. I ate wanton noodle in 哥弟茶店. The noodle not much special. Look like in Thailand, Chinese is quite important as the name of shop only write in Chinese and Thai words.

In Hatyai has many tour companies that you can buy bus ticket to Penang. We choose to stop at Komtar Penang. The ticket around 450-500 Baht. Below information is the tour company that I bought the bus ticket at:-

In bus from Hatyai to Penang, I think because of the route or other reason, there will be exchange passengers. Luckily three of us just stay on same bus from start to end.

* When buy ticket do remember to inform your hotel address as they can fetch you from hotel If not, you need wait at the tour company.

Red Planet Hotel

We spent RM 219 for a room for one night. The room has three single beds, we did requested for extra bed. I forgot to take some room pictures but the room pictures can find in their website.

In room, I saw a card said that install the hotel apps, you can start communicate with hotel staff easy. Even hotel staff can recommend you the attractions or nearby restaurant. It is cool!

Inside the hotel has tour counter, which is Happy Life Travel. It has provide service taxi and van to Koh Lipe, Koh Samui, Phuket and Krabi. At the counter, you also can buy bus ticket from Penang.

Beside the lift has water dispenser machine.  This hotel has some security that when you go in the lift, you need scan your room card in order to click the floor button.
