24th February 2017 (Friday)

Pho24 is the first and only pho brand chain of Vietnam which serving from 6am to 3am. When you feel hungry at the night, you no need to worry as Pho24 still open until 3am.

Pho24 opened in June 2003 on Nguyen Thiep Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The first pho shop was an immediate success based on a secret family pho recipe.

The process of order a bowl of Pho as below:-

1. Choose your size (regular, large or special)
I choose for regular 49,000 VND

2. Choose your meat (Australian fillet, brisket, beef balls or chicken)
I choose chicken

3. Extras (noodle, egg, meat or aus tenderloin)
No, thanks.

The pho that I ate is delicious especially the soup.

For the drinks, I ordered soy milk (19,000 VND).

The coconut is smaller than the one I usually drink in Malaysia.

Pho has branches in many countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, Korea and Australia. How come don’t have in Malaysia? Perhaps can open some in Malaysia :D

Vietnam Food 2017: Bac Ha Pho Mien

23rd February 2017 (Thursday)

Pho is popular dish in Vietnam and can be finding in everywhere.  It sound “Fur” with ignores the “r” when read it.  Pho is rice noodle soup.

For me, pho usually served with unknown vegetables. It has fragrance when eat it and I not so like with this type of vegetable. I ordered rice noodle soup with chicken leg (Pho ga dui) which cost me 60,000 VND.

This is bowl soup with two eggs with price of 15,000 VND.

I found out that the noodle soup or Pho in Vietnam are very delicious and same taste, no matter where are you eat. Do you agree? Hehe…

Vietnam Trip 2017: Cititel Boutique Ben Thanh Hotel

22nd February 2017 (Wednesday) - 26th February 2017 (Sunday)

Basically taxi will put you in front of Saigon Night Hotel (if I not mistake for the name of hotel) which near with the main road because the road goes in to Cititel Boutique Hotel is quite narrow and mostly full of motorcycle.  It is just a short distance walk to hotel, you just go straight and turns right then turn left.

From 1 November 2016, the name of “Aries Ben Thanh Central Hotel” changed to “Cititel Boutique Ben Thanh Hotel”.

This trip consists of 1 man and 3 ladies therefore we booked for Family Suites through Booking.com. We paid in 2 currencies because my friends found out that paid in USD was more save (around RM 22) than paid in VND. As I don’t have USD so I paid in VND.

Room Rate for Family Suite for 5 days 4 nights are 244.28 USD which included 10% VAT (room rate: 222.08 USD). My friends paid 180 USD and I paid for 1,479,000 VND.

The room that we stayed has a big room which has a double bed with 2 single beds. Between double bed room and single beds room has a door to show privacy. Both rooms also has TV but the single beds room’s TV not function well so I mostly online.

Near with double bed’s room has a small balcony but no much view can see from there, only tall building. Beside that the only wash room is near with double bed room.

Inside single bed’s room has a mirror, chair, table, cupboard, refrigerator, kettle and many more. It has a ceiling fan in this room. Inside cupboard has hair dryer.

The WiFi in room is good.

The washroom is equipped with toiletries such as shampoo, brush, soap and many more. You can enjoy hot or cold water while shower.

The hotel provide breakfast which start from 6:30am to 9:00am at level 8 (need to walk by stairs to there, lift until level 7). I found out that if too early go for breakfast only 90% of dish you can enjoy compare late to there. I knew it when I went there after 7:00am, it has noodle soup and salad sauce. Perhaps these two dishes took time to prepare. I like its salad sauce which is not the one which is creamy type like mayonnaise, taste a bit sour and nice.

The environment in level 8 is good. The breakfast provided such as noodle, fried rice, vegetable, potato, porridge, bread, ham, salad and many more. For the drinks have warm water, coffee and juice.

This hotel is at Nguyen Trai Street which is Fashion Street so you can walk nearby for shopping. Near with hotel also has Hong Hoa Bakery (Opla) and Banh Mi Huynh Hoa (online highly recommend) which I did not have time go for it.

The hotel can help to call for taxi service.

Tips:
1. To avoid get lost, on the way to Pham Ngu Lao Street, you will see Hotel Le Duy and KFC.
2. When out from hotel and at the roadside, go to Starbucks way and go straight can reach Ben Thanh Market.

3. When saw this statue on roundabout, its mean hotel is very near.

Vietnam Food 2017: Mon Hue Restaurant

22nd February 2017 (Wednesday)

My first dinner in Ho Chi Minh was at Mon Hue Restaurant.

Mon Hue is brand of fast-casual, sit-down restaurants offers healthy and authentic royal Vietnamese cuisine, known locally as Hue food, to the masses using secret family recipes. Emphasizing taste, food safety and direct food sourcing, the affordably priced Mon Hue menu has over 50 signature dishes- more than sufficient to satiate different palates and encourage repeat visits. It open daily from 6am to 11pm, each of 60 Mon Hue Restaurant at present is strategically located in areas of Ho Chi Minh.

I ordered Hue Vegetarian Noodle Soup (50,000 VND). The soup is nice and I like it although it's look tasteless. When served noodle soup, it will come together with fragrance vegetable. I added the bean spout but not fragrance vegetable.

Vietnam version of 3 layers pork which did not have soy sauce.

This is Vietnamese Vegetarian Fried Spring Roll. My friends said the spring roll is delicious.

Steamed Rice Pancake with Shrimp or Banh Beo Hue (50,000 VND) has 12 small plates of steam rice pancakes. I tried for 2 pancakes. First, I directly eat it without adding the fish sauce, it is tasteless. Then, I added fish sauce inside it and eat, it is mixed well and delicious.

Outside of this restaurant has a guy who wears like security guard will invite you to here for dinner. I just curious that is he is a security guard?  Hehe.. You can surfing internet at here because it provide FREE WiFi.

If you like to enjoy the night view can go for upstairs because I just knew it when I sat down for a while.
