Vietnam Food 2017: The Café Apartment- Mango Tree

24th February 2017 (Friday)

The location of The Café Apartment is just beside of Lucky Plaza. When you see the FAHASA Bookstore, go in beside of book store which can see many motorcycles parked in there. If using lift need to pay for it.

The apartment looks like old apartment which been renovation to become coffee house, handmade shops and many more. If you want to take lift need to pay 3,000 VND.

The entrance for the apartment as below:-

I did not visit all floors, just go into Mango Tree (dessert shop) to eat ice because the weather is so hot.

While waiting for my order, I can enjoy the view from here but a little bit hot because it’s afternoon.

The decoration in this shop is very suitable for photo taking because every corner has different designs.

I ordered Matcha Snowflake Ice (59,000 VND: mini size). On the receipt has WiFI password.

Matcha Snowflake Ice is very delicious when mixed it with red bean and tang yuan (made from glutinous rice flour mixed with a small amount of water to form balls and then cooked and served). I like its taste so I did not put the milk into it.

From here is very near with Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee which has statue of Ho Chi Minh.  Inside the hall cannot visit just can take pictures in front of it.

Vietnam Trip 2017: Saigon Central Post Office

24th February 2017 (Friday)

Before this I saw many postcard lover will post picture of taking a postcard in front of the real building such like make a comparison. Before this trip, I bought a set of hand drawing postcard, that why I can post like this. Haha.

Saigon Central Post Office was constructed when Vietnam was part of French Indochina in the late 19th century (1886-1891). It counts with Gothic, Renaissance and French influences.

Inside the Saigon Central Post Office of special note are two painted maps that were created just after the post office was built, the first one located on the left side of the building is a map of Southern Vietnam and Cambodia titled Lignes telegraphiques du Sud Vietnam et Cambodge 1892 which translates to “Telegraphic lines of Southern Vietnam and Cambodia 1892”. The second map of greater Saigon is titled Saigon et ses environs 1892 that translates as “Saigon and its surroundings 1892”.

Inside of post office have many people. This was my first time to see so many tourists inside post office. The design of the post office is beautiful.

Inside post office has souvenir shops.

It has some tables and chairs for you to write postcards. Before write postcard, you can buy some postcards at there too.

I sent some postcards from here and the stamp rate as below:-

Within Asia 10,500 VND
United Kingdom (UK) 12,000 VND

After stick all the stamps on postcards, I found out that no one queue in front of stamp counter so I went there to ask for whether can buy a stamp and stick on my travel notebook and ask for stamping on the stamp. The answer is “can”.  I need to buy stamp of 3,000 VND for stamping.

When came out from post office, I saw a lovely couple were having photo shooting.

Surprise that my friend in UK received the postcard 2 weeks after I back from Vietnam while Malaysia friends received after 3 weeks I back. UK is faster than Malaysia but Malaysia is near with Vietnam.

The opposite of post office is Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral so you can go to these two places at the same day. It’s also not too far from Independent Palace.

On 24 March, I received my postcard which sent from Vietnam. I like the message which wrote by my friend on my postcard.

The war is a black history but it made the people in this country stronger.
Let's be tough like them and appreciate what we have ~ Evon

Vietnam Food 2017: Sasa Café

22nd February 2017 (Wednesday)

This Café did provide food but we went here for 2 times after dinner to enjoy the drinks (the beer is cheap!) and have some talks.

Saigon Beer (Green) 10,000 VDN (approx. RM 2.00)
Saigon Beer (Red) 16,000 VDN (approx. RM 3.20)

My friends asked me to try some sip, as usual I don’t like the taste. Although the beer is cheaper than juice but I still like to drink juice compare beer. It’s healthy too. Haha..

AGAIN, although beer is cheap and can order for many, do check the bill before pay it because maybe you will need to pay some food or drink which you did not order.  Luckily my friend was smart and she checked that it has some drinks which we did not order occurs on bill.

If you like to enjoy the night view can go for upstairs but need to be early because people also like to eat near with balcony there to enjoy the view.
