Manila Trip 2015: The Oasis Paco Park Hotel

Known for 20 years as the Park Hotel, The Oasis Paco Park Hotel prides itself as being the original boutique hotel in Manila offering value for money accommodations with high quality, personalized service. It is perfect for business travelers and tourists seeking a serene, safe, comfortable and budget-friendly hotel outside the crowded areas of Malate and Ermita – Website

Inside of hotel has a restaurant named “My Kitchen by Chef Chris” . This restaurant has many good reviews about it and it is ranking number 4 of best restaurants which recommended by Trip Advisor.  As the meal expense in this restaurant is quite high so I did not try for it.

30th September 2015

For accommodation, my friend chooses for this hotel as the room rate is affordable for her because she need to pay for 3 persons’ room rates that include her parents. She booked the hotel via booking.com.

As my friend in charge for booking so I just remember that I paid around RM 330 ++ for she because our accommodation keep changing before choose for this hotel so I also forget the details. My friend told me that our room around 8,000 peso (not include extra bed) for 5 nights. The room that we stay was Deluxe Room. The room rate as below:-

I found out that the published room rate (from hotel brochure) is expensive than online booking so better find the rate via online and early booking. The room rates are inclusive of 12% tax and 10% service charge. About the tax, as a Malaysian we should appreciate that Malaysia just implement 6% of Goods and Services Tax (GST) compare with Manila which has 12% of tax.

Room deposit of 2,000 peso per room required upon check in. During check in, it has welcome drink for us. The standard check in time is 2:00p.m. and check out time is 12:00p.m..

The room is quite big and we did request for extra bed because three of us stayed in one room. This room has a big mirror which I think many girls will like about it.

Inside the refrigerator have some drinks which need to pay after drink it. This was my first time to see hotel’s refrigerator full of drinks but I dislikes it because if I want to store something inside refrigerator, I need to take out the drinks and take them in before I check out.

Inside of room did not have kettle so we had walked to Robinson Place during dinner to buy 6 liter of mineral water.

The bathroom is big and clean. The hotel did provide simple toiletry such as shampoo, hand soap and shower gels.

The TV channels provided are international because many TV Channel can be found even Spanish channel but most of the time, we watched for Tawian Channel.

Through my room can saw Paco Park. That time, we entered the room, the sky start raining.

The WiFi in room is not so strong because most of time, I online outside of the room or lobby. When write for this post, I had seen in hotel’s website did mention that some rooms are inaccessible to WiFi due to the solid construction of the hotel.

On the last night before we checked out, air-condition was suddenly leaking but after sometime, the air-condition stop leaking. I also not sure what happened to the air-conditioner.

Every morning, you will receive local newspaper. The traffic in Manila really made us shocked so my friend and I curious about the percentage of car accident in Manila. Therefore, we tried to look for some car accident news but no much about it so we not sure this newspaper seldom report about car accident or the percentage of car accident in Manila really low. All are skillful drivers. Haha..

At the corridor has some tables and chairs for you to eat breakfast or chit chat with friends.

This hotel has a beautiful swimming pool. I had seen some foreigners swim inside the pool.

Beside lobby has a small café which you will be serve for welcome drink upon check in.

Near with hotel has street which we had been got lost in it. After that, we avoid go into the street but use the Paco Park as landmark because hotel is located right beside Paco Park. From hotel, we just need to walk to Paco Park’s entrance and go straight from Paco Park’s entrance then will see the big road and LRT. After crossing the road and go straight, Robinson Place at the left hand side.
