With the 30th
anniversary of the death of Mr. Lim Lian Geok (LLG) and establishment of the fund, LLG Cultural
had launched postcard series of Lim Lian Geok.
You might be asking
who is Lim Lian Geok?
Based on the website,
Mr. Lim was spokesperson for the Malayan Chinese community throughout the Independence
struggle and he took part in the “Malacca Talks” with Tunku over the
Constitutional issued in 1955. He was first and foremost a teachers’ union
leader who lived his mission of a civil rights leader of the Malaysian Chinese
community. To know more about Lim Lian Geok, click here.
This series of
postcard is so meaningful so I had bought a set for my collection and other sets for sending to friends.
This postcard series
has 3 sets which are illustration postcard and 2 different sets of old pictures
postcards.
What I like about the
postcard is it has Chinese and English explanation for the pictures so means
that I can send the postcard to everyone. I think the postcard come from
scanning of old pictures so at the back of postcard can be seen the old mark.
The illustration postcards
are drawn by Hung Wan Lu. It was about the epic struggle of Chinese education
in Malaysia into 8 different historical periods. Same as old picture postcards
that at the back of postcard has Chinese and English explanation. I like the
back of the postcard because it has many types of colors and the quality of the
postcard is good.
