Limbang Regional Museum was official declared open by Honorable Datuk Adenan Haji Satem, the Minister of Social Development on 27^th August 1994. This museum building was an old fort which was built in year 1897.

The ground floor of Limbang Regional Museum used for administrative purposes while 1^st floor is a museum for visiting. It display the history, culture and lifestyle of people such as bamboo band, salt making, beadwork, bark cloth, brassware, basketry and others. The admission is free.

Limbang Plaza is the first shopping complex built in Limbang which start operate since year 1998. This building has 3 components which is Purnama Hotel, Shopping Mall and Government Offices (located right on the top of the mall). There have multi-storey car parks which connected to the Limbang Plaza through a bridge. Inside of Limbang Plaza has Maybank ATM.

I found this map at KWSP website as my references in Limbang. For those who like to eat Chinese food can find many Chinese coffee shops at Jalan Buangsiol especially around Hong Leong Bank and Public Bank there. For those who like to eat Malay food can find at in front of Limbang Plaza and Tamu Market. Limbang Central Market is a market for selling non-halal things which operates by Chinese.

At roundabout of Jalan Buangsiol, you can see landmark of Limbang, Buffalo.

Immigration Department in Limbang

For those who are not Sarawakian, need to report to Immigration counter. At Immigration counter, you need to show up your Identity Card or Passport and you will get a slip or pass. This pass is valid for you to visit Limbang up to 90 days. You cannot lose this slip because you need to return this when you go back.

Getting To and Around Limbang

I was getting to Limbang by using Ferry Royal Limbang No.1. It leaves from Labuan at 2pm and arrive Limbang at 4pm. The ticket from Labuan to Limbang cost me RM 28 for economic class. 

Attentions for those who are last minutes person, it is very important early go to terminal because ferry will leave before 2pm. During my trip, the ferry leaves at 1.50pm.

Royal Limbang No.1

I get back to Labuan by using Ferry Royal Limbang No.1. It leaves from Limbang at 8am and arrive Labuan at 10am. The ticket from Limbang to Labuan is RM 30. Limbang did not have specific counter for buying ticket but you can buy ticket at in front of Immigration Office there. At there, ticket counter is just a simple table and ticket seller is just sitting at there to sell the ticket.

When I sat in ferry, the ferry was moved very slow that made me so curious. After for a while, I realized that the ferry was waiting for Malay girl that was missed the ferry. She used speed boat to catch up the ferry and before that she already called for people in charge in ferry so that ferry will wait for her. The same lesson that I observed was “Don’t be late”.

Limbang in Sarawak

Limbang is one of Division in Northern Sarawak which located along the eastern bank of Sungai Limbang. It surrounded by Brunei on both the east and the west. Limbang was originally part of Brunei but was annexed by Charles Brooke, the 2^nd Raja of Sarawak in year 1890 despite strong protest from Brunei.

Hector and The Search For Happiness by Francois Lelord

Once upon a time, there was a young psychiatrist called Hector who was not very satisfied with himself so he decided to take a trip from Paris to China to Africa to the United Sates. Along the way, he keeps a list of observations about the people he meets and tries to understand what made people happy or unhappy.  

The part in book that I like is Hector being catch by criminals in Africa and he contemplates his own death. Luckily, he was smart that he wrote a note to criminals when they argued. He just simply wrote “You have a real problem there. We should talk.” This was a magic formula known only to psychiatrists which they are only allowed to use when they lives are in danger.

         i    Ask people how many times they had felt in a good mood, cheerful, happy during the day or  week.

       ii. Ask people if they were happy in the different areas of their lives.

   iii.      Film people’s facial expressions and then measure them in complicated ways.

While making these chinese knot of dragonflies, I had thought of a touching MV. 

Dragonflies

This MV is about a couple who live happily. One day, the girl had met an accident and lying unaware on a hospital bed.  At morning, the boy accompanied and kept calling the girl while at night, he went to church to pray to God.

 A month later, the girl still sleeping with whiles the boy became haggard. The God had made an exception to this persistent boy. God asked him: “Are you willing to use your own life as an exchange?” The boy replied without hesitation: “I do!” God say: “Well, I can make your lover to wake up soon but you must promise to turn into 3 years of dragonfly, would you?” The boy still firmly replied: “I do!”

At dawn, the boy had become a dragonfly and the girl was waked up. A few days later, the girl had recovered and she kept finding the boy. The dragonfly was around the girl all the time. The summer was passed, the dragonfly had to leave here so it was the last time he landed on the girl’s shoulder. Spring was coming, the dragonfly quickly fly back to find the girl but now the girl accompanied with a man (doctor). The dragonfly was so sad.

In the summer of third year, God agreed 3 years period is coming soon. On the last day, the girl and doctor held a wedding. The dragonfly saw they put the ring on the finger and kissing sweetly.  The dragonfly shed the tear. God signed: “Do you regret it?” Dragonfly dried his tear: “No!” God said: “Well, tomorrow you can change back to your own.” Dragonfly shook the head: “Let me do a life time dragonfly!”
