Nine Emperor Gods Procession 2014: Ji Gong Hit My Head

Recently was raining day that made me think that it relate with *Nine Emperor Gods Festival because it always raining during this time of year.

*The Nine Emperor Gods Festival is a 9 days Taoist celebration beginning on the eve of 9th lunar month of the Chinese calendar, which is observed primarily in Southeast Asian Countries like Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and also Riau Island – Wikipedia

I had tried to find the reason of raining during Nine Emperor Gods Festival via online and saw that it has some theories about it such as Nine Emperor Gods are sea Gods or they have control over the rain that I knew through The Star.

My mother knew that today have Nine Emperor Gods Procession but did not know what times it starts as it lack of promote and I had tried search online to find but did not have any information about it.

At night, luckily that my sister’s friend had informed she that Nine Emperor Gods Procession just passed by New Chip Guan. After hearing this, my family quickly went into the car and planned to see the procession at Milimewah there.

When we on the way to that place, it was traffic jam and we had saw that the procession already started in town so we changed our plan and wait for the procession at Public Bank there. When we stand at outside of Public Bank there, the procession just slowly came by. Luckily, we managed to see the procession.

Below is the whole procession that recorded by me:-

This was my first time to see this procession. During the procession, a Ji Gong (a legendary monk who helped people with a magic fan) approached me and used his fan to hit my head and followed by my family’s head which you can watch at [2:50] of the video. When he approached me, I did not know what I should react about so I just stand at there and let him hit my head. Haha..Awesome experience!
